'The Handmaid's Tale' e 'Big Little Lies' são as vencedoras do Emmy

As mulheres foram destaque na 69ª edição do Emmy, prêmio mais importante da televisão americana, que ocorreu neste domingo (17). Com cinco prêmios ganhos nas categorias principais, as séries 'The Handmaid's Tale' e 'Big Little Lies', que giram em torno de personagens femininas, foram as grandes vencedoras da noite.

Concorrendo nas categorias de drama, 'The Handmaid's Tale' - distopia na qual os Estados Unidos se transforma em um Estado teocrático e divide as mulheres da população em castas - levou as estatuetas de melhor atriz (Elizabeth Moss), melhor série, melhor atriz coadjuvante (Ann Dowd), melhor direção e melhor roteiro. O Hulu, responsável pela produção, se tornou o primeiro serviço de streaming a ganhar um Emmy na categoria Melhor Série.

'Big Little Lies' - trama na qual três mães se envolvem em um assassinato -, por sua vez, se destacou entre as séries limitadas. Além de levar o prêmio de melhor minissérie, a produção ganhou nas categorias melhor atriz (Nicole Kidman), melhor atriz coadjuvante (Laura Dern), melhor ator coadjuvante (Alexander Skarsgard) e melhor direção.

Outro destaque foi o humorístico "Saturday Night Live", que levou quatro estatuetas. "Veep" ganhou como melhor série de comédia e com Julia Louis-Dreyfus (pela sexta vez seguida) como melhor atriz.

Numa cerimônia apontada com mais diversa do que o Oscar, Donald Glover foi o primeiro negro a ganhar em uma categoria de direção, por "Atlanta". Lena Waithe se tornou a primeira roteirista negra a levar uma estatueta. Já Reed Morano foi a primeira mulher a vencer como diretora em 22 anos.

'Game of Thrones', a maior vencedora da história da premiação, não concorreu neste ano por não estrear sua sétima temporada a tempo de se tornar elegível.
